After a year of isolation due to Covid 19, we are still in a world dominated by social distancing and Zoom meetings. The first Postcard Scores concert was a celebration of talent and innovation as the world adjusted to uncertainty and the cancelation of countless arts and music programming.

Each score, composed by Ryan Charles Ramer, fits on the front of a postcard and was mailed to the performers in support of the United States Postal Service. Since the first concert, the USPS has continued to be attacked and dismantled in a challenge to limit voting rights. We have also continued to be socially distanced while patiently waiting access to vaccinations. Through all of this, musicians and composers still find ways to bring communities together and spread hope that someday soon, we will be able to gather again.

The Postcard Scores II continues to build on a tradition started by Charles Ives of writing short-form pieces on postcards. The compositions range in length from 20 – 120 seconds each. Presented are solo works for one trumpet, two music boxes, three violins, five pianos and six voices.
